If you are planning a trip to a malaria-risk area, you should speak to your doctor or travel health specialist 4 to 6 weeks before your trip. He or she can provide additional guidance
on specific medical requirements for travel to certain areas.
This is especially important to do if:
- You plan to be in a remote area without access to
medical care - You are pregnant or likely to become pregnant
- You are traveling with infants or young children (they may require different immunizations or doses of certain medications)
